Welcome

to Stay, Play, Learn

Art and science adventures for your time at home

What is Stay, Play, Learn?

Stay, Play, Learn is a project created by Box Of Light and the Bloomsburg Children's Museum to provide arts and science education to families at home during the time of Covid 19. This site offers films, lessons, educational challenges and connections to educators and teaching artists. These resources are gifts to our communities from teaching artists, educators and arts organizations throughout northeastern Pennsylvania.

Zoom Animation Class Films

with Rand Whipple

Check out your films filmmakers! Click here.

Well, its' that time.

We've been posting videos to StayPlayLearn.org for six weeks now and, with the help of artists and educators from ten organizations , have shared lessons in arts, fllm, animation, science, nature and more. We've told stories to your children and hopefully added a few child friendly, brain building activities to your childrearing toolbox. As the weather has warmed and we all get used to this new 'normal', we seeing  fewer hits to the site. That tells us to change the site a bit.

We're going to post videos once per week rather than five days per week. And we are going to move all the content you've seen to pages that you can access in the timeframe you wish.

We'll start that transition today and look for it to be complete by the week's end.

For now, don't forget that Rand Whipple will be conducting an animation/film class (it's free) on Zoom starting Tuesday at 4:00.

Email boxoflight@me.com to register.

THANKS FOR BEING A PART OF THIS SITE FOR STAY AT HOME LEARNERS. Enjoy the time made available to create, learn and explore.

Editing

Once you've filmed your movie, it's time to edit. While there will be some difference between one editing app and another, they all work basically the same way. Box Of Light's Rand Whipple will take you through what you'll find in your editing app in this video.

AND DON'T FORGET! Rand will be conducting four film/stop motion classes next week, Tuesday-Friday at 4:00. Email boxoflight@me.com to register.

It is the Pyramid of Djoser – which is known for its 3 miles of underground passages and traps! So be careful! Once there move through the historical complex and search for the Lost Treasure Chest dropped by Tomb Raiders from long ago. Mummies will help guide your way. (Click on the Mummies for instructions).

And don’t forget to press ‘play’ in the upper left corner for some Desert Sounds during your search. When you have found the Treasure Chest hidden somewhere in the desert sands, click on it to be given a PassWord to correctly enter the random drawing on the Submission Form below.
