Here's a nice physically active (gross motor), rhythmic (builds coordination and is mathematic) musical activity that is also kinda just fun.You can make the shakers out of plastic Easter eggs and beans (or peas or pasta or... you get the idea.)

Poles Apart

Ms.Leandro's first grade class from Cambridge Springs Elementary has a well performed version of Poles Apart, written by Celia Warren and illustrated by Mike Terry.  Wow, the power of friendship.
